Underwater

I have wanted to shoot underwater ever since my boys were young. Back then I took a plastic baggie and wrapped it around a Nikon Coolpix 600 and hoped for the best. Well, today I upgraded a bit. I now have an early birthday present which houses the Canon Mark llN...thanks Denise! I gotta say it is very, very cool and Craig at AquaTech in Australia was the best ever. Even today when we were testing the camera at the pool he called to make sure that all was ok and answer some more questions. It was fun to put it through the paces and see what it could do. Believe me it is another world shooting like this underwater, but what a kick!

Our kids and some friends went swimming they had a lot of fun. Thanks everyone you were awesome! So do you want to see some pics?

Wynter & David’s Engagement

I wanted to add some more sparkle to our website and little by little we are doing it. This video is from Wynter and David's engagement shoot last weekend. Good Grief it was hot! This shoot was especially fun with the two of them and I can hardly wait until their wedding next July. In the meantime I hope you all enjoy this video! And thanks to Alejandra for being such a great assistant with the remotes and monopod!

This is also the first sneak peak at our new logo which you can see at the end of the video. Rick Allen, my good friend over at HighPoint Solutions crafted this new logo just before he left for eastern europe.
Thanks Rick for being such a great friend and an excellent artist!

Hot Hot Hot!

What an incredible day! I haven't felt heat like this in Seattle with over 100 degree temps since I was a small boy. I can still remember walking barefoot around as a small kid with a duck (another story) and getting burned feet on the streets. Ahh...summer there is nothing like it.

Tonight I had the absolute joy of shooting Wynter and David. Thanks Jessie so much for the great referral!!! We had an incredible night for the engagment shoot and I can hardly wait to share the images with you. But in the meantime here is a small teaser. David you are so blessed to have such a sweet girl. Only 12 more full moons and you will be married!!

Fourth of July

Hi friends! Well, I am new to blogging and I am very excited about sharing a little about my family. Many years ago I used to play Army with my boys using plastic squirt guns and even guns made out of wood from our shop. Playing Army, I know,...it's a guy thing. Really it was mostly a game of hide and seek but we had a lot of fun sneaking around in the dark looking for each other.

I had a Green Beret hat packed away from a friend of mine that was in Vietnam and Madison had just received a helmet from his family. So, I had the boys dress up in Army clothes and pretend that they were being attacked by a terrible enemy. Ever since then we have continued to do it as a family tradition around Independence Day. This years new hat on Grant was from David who just returned safely after serving faithfully in Iraq. Thanks David for allowing us to use your hat!

Foto-tip: Always be willing to improvise, it keeps the cost down and you're forced to be more creative!
