three plates

It is different this year with Grant not being in powerlifting as he is in college. But he has paved the way for Torey and given him much practical coaching. Torey is doing well in competition by beating his records pretty consistently. Here Torey is dead lifting 315 pounds, not to bad for a 118 pounder. That’s works out to be an equivalent 480.5 pounds for a 180 pound man. Pretty impressive. And yes that is 3 – 45 pound plates on each side.

a birthday but not goodbye

This blog today is about some dear friends the Kimball’s. They have been at our church pastoring for several years now and we have grown to love them dearly. I first got to know the boys having been with them in kids church. Jared who is older is so full of passion for God and Titus is so resolute and wonderfully stubborn at times. These two boys are truly special and I expect such great exploits in life through them as they walk with God. Their younger sister Sophie just had a birthday and we were invited out to their home to share that time with them and to watch the Superbowl. I love Sophie with her sticker on her nose and cute spunk, spit bubbles and cupcakes….totally precious.

Their parents: Jessie has been leading worship so Torey has had the opportunity to work with her. She is such a creative and talented spirit and loves God with all her heart. We really appreciate the encouragement she has been to our Torey. And Pastor Brent is extremely talented in bringing good Bible teaching as well being a good steward financially with great integrity. I love how he has been such an encouragement to our Grant helping him with finances. If you have kids, you know how incredible it is to have safe, responsible, kind hearted, and loving people that speak life into your kid. That is what Jessie and Brent have been to us; speaking life into our kids.

And now they are leaving from our church to something else unknown. We thought it would be different but God has other plans for them and so we are excited in this new chapter. I envy the next ministry that gets to have them involved in their lives. So although this could be a goodbye it’s not, because we have just started in our dear relationship with them where ever God leads them.

Finally this verse comes to my mind from l Thessalonians 5:24. Paul writes, “The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.”

darrick as a senior

When Jeff talked to me about taking his son’s pictures for his senior year I jumped at the chance. You may remember Darrick when I posted about him playing football. I have known Jeff, his Dad, for so many years it’s almost hard to count….twenty…twenty-five? So here is Darrick in his senior year! And you may remember Jeff, he is my dear friend that is an amazing photographer…take a look.

continue to grow

One of the most important things anyone can do in any field is to continue to grow, especially photography. It’s just normal to once on top of a specific industry to begin to rest and coast. That is why I took a workshop recently and hung out with a few more photographers with Sean Flanigan giving the teaching. This workshop I was just mostly absorbing with only a few clicks…here they are:

wpja client letters

I awoke early this morning to an email from wpja that got me blogging. You can see the email below, but let me just say that I am really thankful for the reference from WPJA. When the WPJA introduced this option to have client testimonials listed I went through my affirmation folder and sent some of the letters into WPJA. This affirmation folder is something I have kept even before email, because when I have a really bad day and I need to be encouraged I can reference that folder. Of course if you never have a bad day or you you don’t need encouraging then just disregard. To those of you who let me shoot your wedding and you wrote these comments…thank you so much: they are like chocolate to my soul. One more cool thing that the WPJA does in this process is that they verify that it is an accurate referral by contacting the client directly. If you would like to see some of the comments click on the link here. and click on the Client Letters to read them. Again much thanks to my dear friends and wpja! I can hardly wait until AGWPJA adds this new feature on their new site!

Since every client letter I receive is like an award I am putting this in my award folder in my blog:)
Ok, and here is a peak of what what that page looks like.
