Hi welcome to my blog!...my name is ron storer and this blog profiles my life as an wedding photographer living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my wonderful wife Denise (aka Neesie) and my two boys Grant and Torey.  In the earlier years I gained a lot of experience working with various advertising agencies and ministries throughout the world photographing various needs from Aviation to AIDS.  Prior to that I raced for the US Cycling Team winning a Gold Medal in the Pan-Am Games in the Team Pursuit.

Today I work with incredible people that are a joy to be around and have an artistic flare for life on their most special day of their life - whether local or a destination wedding. Yes, it is true that I am an Artistic Award Winning Wedding Photographer, but really each of these moments that are so special are just real endearing moments that I was just fortunate to be at when they happened. If you were to ask me how I view life I would say: with passion!  I love life.  I love people.  I love real special moments.  And that is what this blog is all about.  If you haven't visited my Web site yet, please check it out. If you would like to chat drop me an email or give me a call at  1-888-836-2248.

sweet night

Neesie and I just had a wonderful date night. The boys were at church and we went over to the Sound. Clam Chowder, Halibut and beautiful drive in a jeep with a great gal. It really doesn’t much better than that.

still my favorite girl

When you have been married for 21 years it is so easy to just put things on cruise control. Today I just want to celebrate my wife of 21 years and share this picture from Alejandra’s wedding last year.

I love her so much!

for humans

Psalms 34:

17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.

18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

22 The LORD redeems his servants;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.

random thoughts

Just finished a killer album. It was the most exhausting album design yet. I am drained and feeling good. And yet, I feel like I am just not how good I want to be. Either in skill, completion or the creative process. It’s nuts. I eagerly look forward to getting to the next level in my skill.

With the boys gone this week it allowed me to spend more time with Neesie. And I realized that I need to get my act together and be a better listener. To take the time.

Thanks God for, an Awesome wife and exceptional boys.

no pic tonight, just a prayer to be better and to be thankful. Have a great week!

how he loves us

I have been hearing this song all morning in my head. And I just love it when I hear a good song and it sticks in my head all day long. Let me warn you something about this song. It is powerful. If you are not open to God right now don’t click it. But if you did you won’t want to watch this with a lot of people around. I am just warning you because it is both an affirmation and a call to be reconciled to God,… so you probably don’t want to click on it.

But then again maybe you are open to God doing something new in your life.

How He loves us.

these pillars

These are the pillars that I am very familiar with at Marymoor Park. They surround the soccer fields and the velodrome there with tremendous light in the evening. When I was taking pictures of Kenny the other day my thoughts ran back to the hundreds of hours that I spend riding beneath them on the banked Velodrome. I was there riding in the sun, wind, rain and even snow…because I was daring and little stupid…LOL. To this day they are still standing giving a continuance marker of sorts to life.

I remember when my Dad came out to see me at the track. I can still see him walking towards me the best he could. You see didn’t come very often because he worked in Alaska, but this time he had broke his leg and was determined to be there. And I can see in my mind very clearly these pillars right next to the stands.

I can also see when my brother Mark came out. He was starting a new towing company but he took the time and was so proud that I was winning. When those win that are close to us, we feel we win with them. I love that moment when he was beaming and so proud of me.

I can also see my boys when they first came out to the track and they rode around it, doing there best to keep the bikes upright and make it all around.

And I can remember my incredible wife, Denise, aka Neesie as she watched me and she lay on a blanket in the infield. Those moments are priceless and they all happened beneath these pillars.

You are a pillar to those around you. You must choose to make a positive difference to those around you, by being faithful, loving and consistent. When we fail, and we all know how we have failed; no one needs to remind us that we do fail or how often, we need to seek God and his forgiveness.

Realize that you are important to God’s plan here on earth.
You do make a difference.
What else? People think about you more often than you realize.
They pray for you and even ask others to pray for you without you even knowing about it.

With every fiber of your body cry out for God to be a positive pillar to those around you and let God shine through you.

on the field with kenny

I hooked up with Kenny and Teresa this week. You may remember that Teresa is my beloved niece and she married Kenny last year. Kenny has been now working at Airport Towing and perhaps to relieve all that stress he has been playing soccer up to 5 days a week in the evening. It was fun just watching the competition and the intensity. I also had a chance to see Kenny and Teresa’s new dog that they rescued. They found little Weston online in California and then Kenny flew down to pick him up and now Weston just adores Kenny. Wow dogs are so awesome!

intense!

1958-2009

Make your life count.
Live without regrets.
When mistakes are made ask forgiveness.
Make a positive difference in someone’s life.
Live knowing there are consequences.
Live knowing that God loves you so very much.
Allow that knowledge to change you.
You are the pearl of great price.

25 things i hate about facebook

Although I have a myspace account, I can’t remember when the last time I went there. The top reasons I don’t go to myspace is because the really poor navigation and design. Facebook took that idea of social networking and tweaked it a bunch and improved on it, but I think that this video addresses what need still needs to be changed.

versus increases coverage of the tour

I was never a big fan of the spun-down coverage of the Tour de France years ago. It was like just watching the recap of any game when you already know the results. This year Versus cable has increased coverage to include broadcasting in HD along with a camera inside the Garmin-Slipstream bus. Another cool thing for me personally will be to see my old US teammate from a zillion years ago, Frankie Andreau. So I am looking forward to the coverage starting in only a bit over a week from now.
